Below are instructions for completing your application. 

First Time Parent PLUS Loan Borrowers

Before you can apply for a loan, you will need to register for a user id and password. You will need the following information:

  • Your Social Security Number
  • Your Telephone Number
  • Your Zip Code
  • Your Email Address

Here are the basic steps to follow for your loan application.  The entire process should take approximately 10-15 minutes.

  1. Create an id/password and login.

  2. Select Parent – Start a Federal PLUS Loan on the Start A Loan tab.

  3. Complete the credit information, including the dependent student information.

  4. If approved, you will be prompted to complete the rest of the loan application.

  5. Complete all required application information, including 2 adult references.

  6. Electronically sign the Master Promissory Note (MPN).

  7. Print the Final Instructions page for your records.
